Australian Idol is over. not that I care. except that I do, because it means no more Sunday night Matt singing to look forward to.

And of course, it was a massive surprise that Matt did not win, but came second. A pleasant surprise however.

You may be wondering what my logic is. You see, this awful debut single was written (by *dry wretch* mark holden) for the winner to kick start their career with. And it just wasn't for Matt. So I sighed a breath of relief, knowing he is now free to sing and do what he wants. And not become a stigmatic 'Idol Winner'. Ahhhhhh

music

I can't stop listening to brit rock. the libertines, the arctic monkeys, belle and sebastian, the beatles...i can't stop listening to the kooks (it's all i've listened to for about 5 days straight). the phrasing of the lyrics are so fantastic, I don't know, but british rockers just have a knack for it. my number one song for the minute is ooh la - the kooks.
today I watched the movie "Paris, Je t'aime".

wow, what a nice movie. It is just so sweet. I really liked the story about the guy that walks into a textile factory or whatever it is, and sees this other guy (I did realise after a moment that yes, they ARE gay) and might I add, the guy is amazingly beautiful, similar looking to the guy in the post just below (random hottie) however this is beside the point and I am wandering away from the story. Anyway, this guy starts talking to the other guy, without even waiting for any response. He just says all this stuff about how when he saw him, he felt that he had to speak to him otherwise he would know he had missed out on something great blah blah blah. Then he gives him his number and says (and the whole time he's speaking in french) "call me sometime, we must have a proper chat because i know we are soulmates". Then he leaves. And then, and this is the funny part, the guy is sitting there just looking confused, and someone comes over and says "what was he saying?" and the guy says IN ENGLISH "I have no clue, I don't speak enough french to understand" !!!!!!!!

How sweet and yet sad!
well I'm just listening to my ipod right now, and I was suddenly struck by the poetic beauty of the lyrics of the song I was listening to.

"...but you're still the one pool in which I'd happily drown..."

- LCD Soundsystem, "New York I love you, but you're bringing me down"
i'm not going to lie - I have been watching Australian Idol lately. quite avidly.

however, I have a very valid reason.

and that is...

yes, he is beautiful, he is amazingly talented, a total sweetheart and he has the smooth voice that melts me.

i rest my case for watching that sham of a tv show.

fave magazine

I just want to enlighten anyone who is missing out - if you haven't already discovered it (which you probably won't have, unless you live in Australia), Russh mag is the best fashion/art/books/design but mostly fashion magazine I have encountered yet.

random hottie...

i found this photo on "The Sartorialist" blog - doesn't he just epitomise european sensuality?
